Director of Leadership Development & Training
As the Director of Program Development and Training, Emily designs and implements innovative training, professional development, and leadership coaching for local and national programs at College Advising Corps. In collaboration with the Chief Program Officer, Emily will develop and enhance our best-in-class program model around college access, persistence, career readiness and postsecondary success.
Emily has over 10 years of experience working in education across the K-16 pipeline in public and non-profit settings. Most recently, Emily has worked for KIPP through College (KTC) as a Community of Practice Leader, coaching new and developing managing directors across the KIPP network, as well as serving for five years as the founding director of KTC Nashville, supporting first generation and underserved students and families through college application and persistence. While at KTC Nashville, Emily developed the programmatic vision and goals for the program and managed partnerships with colleges and community organizations to increase opportunities for students. Prior to KIPP, Emily spent three years as a Director of Recruitment for Teach For America (TFA) where she led campus initiatives at Yale, Williams, and Vanderbilt, and region-wide initiatives across Tennessee and Alabama, while also leading training and development for fellow recruitment team members. Emily began her career as a 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher at a public K-8 school in Harlem, NY as a TFA corps member. Emily has also spent time engaging in the intersection of politics and education, running school board campaigns in Nashville, TN and coaching future campaign managers.
Emily is based out of Boston, MA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Brown University and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
